A case study on how InkBridge Networks were able vastly improve the performance of a client’s RADIUS server, enabling them to move the system into production.
Project description
Our customer had installed a basic RADIUS server and then discovered that the performance did not meet their needs. They were seeing an accepted load of only a few authentications per second on a high end machine. Their needs were obviously much higher than this.
How we solved it
Our approach
We investigated and determined that the problem was an external dependency. The RADIUS server was waiting for another network element to respond before returning a response to the NAS.
The results
We optimized the customer’s configuration and, afterwards, increased the rate to many thousands of authentications per second. This performance level allowed the customer to move their new system into production.
